The main challenge was to present the eighty-year history of Esteghlal Football Club, from 1945 to 2025, in a way that could engage readers across different generations. With more than 700 pages of historical content, the layout needed to remain dynamic and engaging throughout, avoiding visual repetition and reader fatigue. The visual system was inspired by Swiss and German graphic design, combining a structured grid, clear typography, and strong visual hierarchy with enough flexibility to create rhythm and variation across the book. The goal was to balance order and dynamism, making the extensive history both accessible and engaging to read. Abi Antique: From Taj to Esteghlal, written by Ebrahim Afshar, offers a distinctive and bold account of more than eight decades of the history of Taj and Esteghlal Football Club. Across 10 chapters and 736 pages, the book explores the club’s history, founders, managers, coaches, and generations of influential players. It also covers legendary figures, international players, supporters, the women’s football team, and the historic Derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis. The book features stories and memories of numerous iconic figures, including Nasser Hejazi, Mansour Pourheidari, Amir Ghalenoei and Farhad Majidi. It also includes more than 200 pages of exclusive photography and a collection of rarely seen historical documents from the club’s archives. Designed as a comprehensive visual record, the full-color, hardbound volume was published by Vazineh Donya Publishing. Book Design & Layout
